This research investigates the issue of marital stability through a maqasid approach that emphasises the maqasid theory and its essence based on values. Thus, talking about the purposes of the marital relationship should not take place in isolation from the system of values that regulate the orientations and behaviours of spouses in a way that ensures the stability of the relationship. This paper deals with the maqasid of marital relationships and the way to activate maqasid shari’ah within the Islamic values system to realize marital and familial stability. Therefore, the Maqasidi scholar must start from the system of Islamic values presented in the legal discourse to build a maqasid-based ethical theory that focuses on achieving the interests of the family and the marital relationship, preventing harm and corruption, keeping pace with the changes that occur in the structure of family and marital relationships, and confronting all challenges and dangers that compromise familial and marital existence.
